If I make many more posts about Mr Dawkins you might think I’m obsessed, but this is too funny not to mention. It’s a spoof radio interview with a scientist who doesn’t believe in the existence of Richard Dawkins, and mimics his rhetoric, arrogance and accent perfectly. It’s also on YouTube here.

I’m going to try the Mr T 4-point plan to help me de-stress. I tried quitting coffee but that lasted about 12 hours. I’ve considered learning to deal with difficulties in a constructive way…but that’s way too much like hard work. So as Mr T says…

1. Stay in school (I’d love to leave but I’m stuck here until I finish my PhD!)
2. Don’t do drugs (caffeine is NOT a drug)
3. Brush your teeth (I’m going to excel at this)
4. Drink your milk (easy)

I still haven’t sorted out my Christmas shopping. I ask my mum for helpful suggestions and she says things like “you being home will be enough.” Sweet, but not very helpful

Dealing with insecurity

Sometimes I feel insecure about my intelligence, surrounded by academics and PhD students who are devoting their lives to their research…and then I watch videos of complete morons on YouTube and I feel better about myself.

MetCheck are forecasting a 30% chance of snow this week for Belfast. I love snow. The prospect of snow gets me through dark cold winters, but it only snows a few times a year, so I get excited everytime.
