I’m torn. One the one hand its an offensive sectarian statement, which will destroy part of a road. On the other hand it got me out of work early. They kindly left the pavement free for cars to get around it, as demonstrated by the mini in the above picture. My office is just through the gates in the background.

I wonder if anyone has ever studied the effects of the pollution from these bonfires, you know — burning tires and washing machines and varous other things that shouldn’t be burned can’t be good for air quality!

The environmental damage of the bonfires must be enormous. They should be banned on environmental grounds alone.
