1. Johnny Cash. My friend sent me a copy of his cover of The Mercy Seat by Nick Cave. I had obviously heard some of his well known songs before, but I never really got into them. I’m now listening to his American III and America V albums. What a guy and what a voice.

How well I have learned that there is no fence to sit on between heaven and hell. There is a deep, wide gulf, a chasm, and in that chasm is no place for any man. –Johnny Cash

2. Arrested Development. A very good US sitcom about a rich and disfunctional family losing everything and the son who tries to hold it all together. Every now and again, US TV does produce a classic, and this is a classic.

3. PocketNesterPlus. A Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) emulator for my smartphone. I’ve now become hopelessly addicted to Dr Mario. If I could just get past level 22 I could move on with my life…though I’m not even sure it’s humanly possible anymore.
