Today made up for this year’s disappointing lack of snow. Knowing the forecast was for wintry showers, my friend Scott and I headed for the Mournes, and climbed up Slieve Bearnagh…

Hiding from the elements

The wind was gale force at the top and literally blew me off my feet a few times. There was snow, sleet and hail, and it was grim for a while trying to get up Bearnagh. But coming down was so much fun and took no time at all because we just dived through the deep snow drifts that had formed by the Mourne wall.
